How’s the spring going for you?

 

You know this is my favorite time of the year. It’s the time where you can hit a refresh button on your goals. Especially, if somehow things haven’t been going so well since the beginning of the year.

 

I take this time to sit down with my desires and truly think about my big vision. Without the pressure of the new year, new goal resolution, that never seems to get accomplished.

 

You see we put so much pressure on setting goals at the beginning of the year. We rush to have the perfect plans and don’t truly plan on our true desires. But on the so-called expectations of what we should be accomplishing.

 

Over the weekend, I took the time to reflect on the goals that I had at the beginning of the year.

 

Some of them were:

 

  • Lose 50 lbs
  • Hit 100k in my business
  • Leave my full-time job

 

Here’s the truth. I had these goals last year too. I have had these goals for the past 3 years. And I have not been able to accomplish them.

 

And maybe you’re just like me. And it’s been a hell of a ride to even get a big goal off your bucket list.

 

But like me, you don’t give up. And you told yourself on December 31st that in this new year somehow things will be different. And you start taking action on accomplishing those goals.

 

But once again, you hit a moment of doubt.

 

Who am I kidding, I can’t lose weight or hit 100k or leave my full-time job.

 

Maybe, I’m just not cut out for this. Maybe I should just give up and just live my life without these stressors and overwhelming goals.

 

And instead of going all-in on your goals. You start slacking. Of course, you don’t give up. But you’re not 100% all-in, either.

 

And when time passes. And you’re still the same weight or heavier. And you got some clients here and there but you’re nowhere near hitting that 100k year. And when you see yourself driving to your full-time job, fully exhausted and overly overwhelmed.

 

That’s the moment in which you either take a spin one more time on that hamster wheel of excuses or you take a different approach to hop off the hamster wheel once and for all.

 

And this is where I’m at.

 

Because I am determined to accomplish my goals.

 

And even in the past 3 years, I haven’t been able to accomplish them. I cannot stay focused on the past anymore. Because I’m not the type of woman that wants to live a life without purpose. I cannot and will not give up on my desires.

 

This is why this year, I’m doing things differently to lose those 50 lbs off my body, and hit 100k in my business, and finally leave my 9-5 job.

 

Here are the 3 steps I’m taking:

  1. Daily Goal Check-In: I’m not just writing down my goals each day. I’m writing down why! And each day I have a new reason why I want to accomplish these goals. And each day I remind myself of my true desires and a big vision for accomplishing that goal. 
  2. Anticipating setbacks: I’m also writing down a list of things that can stop me that day from taking the action towards that goal. Then write down what I would do when that thing presents itself. 
  3. Celebrating the action taken: I’m celebrating each day that I take action on that goal. Instead of just checking off my list. I made a list of ways that I can celebrate each day for the hard action I took 

Example: 

  1. Goal Check-in.

Goal – Lose 50 lbs

Why: I want to lose 50lbs so I can feel sexy and confident in the clothes I wear. 

2. Anticipating Setback

Setback: Feeling like I don’t have time to work out.

Action when this feeling comes up: Find time in my calendar to work out.

3.Celebrating the action taken. 

Action: Worked out for 30 mins. 

Celebration: Treat yourself to a sweet treat or a cookie.

The hardest part for me was finding a way to celebrate. That’s why I created a list of 25 ways I can celebrate after I have taken action on my goal. 

One more thing. When something does not seem to be working. Always look within and find a different way to approach. Especially when giving up is not an option.
