Am going to assume that you have heard or once said that you don’t have time. You probably heard it from a friend or an ex that just didn’t seem to have time to spend it with you.
I understand that some of us do have busy lives and that time is really limited. But isn’t it true that when you really wanted to do something, even if the odds were running against you managed to find a way to do it. No matter what was in your way?
If that’s true then why do we keep on telling ourselves that we don’t have time when in reality we have our whole lives ahead of us.
You can see other people actually get a lot of things done and create a meaningful life around themselves and we would ask how the hell did they get to do all that and we can’t. It’s just a total piss off, isn’t it?
They have the same 24 hrs in day as you have. But somehow they can manage to do it all & have it all. But you stay stuck with “I just don’t have the time.” What a really debating truth huh?
But think about it… is it really true?
Do you really have time to do what you really want to do?
You do right?
Well, i’m here to let you know that saying “I DON’T HAVE TIME” is just bullshit story that we tell ourselves when we really don’t want to do something.
I know that I myself only do the things that I really want to do. So let’s face it, we are human beings. If we really don’t want to do something, we will find a way not to do it. It’s just in our nature.
Yesterday my sister asked me, “How can you have time when there’s so much to do?”
And this is what I told her.
Let me inform you on something that has changed the way I perform within my business and my life. I learned that if I wanted time I had to be clear and honest with myself. Instead of saying every time something came up that “I didn’t have time.” I changed the sentence to,
Yes. I do have time.
I also knew that for this to become true I had to apply it to my own life. I did this by taking a few steps that got me to strategically manage my time and have more of it. Now I want to share with you the steps that I took in order to manage my time, and make it my friend instead of my enemy.
First, I got Clear
Seriously I cannot emphasize enough to you that the way to get anything you want is to first know what you want. It might sound too simple but is the most important step that you must take if you want to create some change in your life. I have whole entire article in which I show you 3 ways to get anything you want.
Take a piece of blank paper and a pen and write down all the things that you have in your mind and that you want to get done. Oh and make sure that you really want to do it, because if you don’t then you already know that it ain’t gonna happen. So don’t even waste your time.
Then, I Got Organized
Sometimes we are not able to take action to accomplish a goal because we are simply not organized. Am a Virgo. So that means I am an organized freak by nature. Although you might hesitate to take the time to get organized. I promise you doing this will save you more time in the long run.
Take 3 more pieces of blank paper and organize the list of to do’s in to 3 sections.
What you want to do in the next 3 months?
What you want to do in the next 6 months?
What you want to do in the next year?
After you do this you will have a clear picture of what the next year is going to be like for you.
The next step is to take a calendar and plot down the exact date and time of your deadlines for the next 3 months.
And finally, I Just Did it
Once you get into the habit of organizing your day by day schedule and knowing how you spend your hours. I guarantee that your going to feel the freedom that time can give you.
Thank you for your time. I truly believe that you are capable of accomplishing whatever you put your heart and soul into doing.
Now I’ll be delighted to hear from you. Yes you.
In the comments below, tell me how you are able to manage your time? Did this resonate with you? If so why and why not?
